Spooky Headless Horseman Scene
About this Project
There are not many Halloween movies I can watch, I'm WAY too suggestible, but Sleepy Hollow is one I have really enjoyed (though I do cover my eyes when the horseman has his head! Those teeth!!) I had such fun last year, creating a décor piece for Halloween which was inspired by the movie and was based on the movie poster for Sleepy Hollow. To my great joy, Whimsy have brought out this Halloween the most fantastic Halloween release based on Sleepy Hollow, so I've had fun creating this spooky panel, another décor piece, which I will display along with my other one from last year. I love the way this scene came together. The background panel I show the making of, in a video for an earlier make - Monster Close Ups. I never ended up using the panel but when I was planning this make, I knew that unused panel was perfect as the backdrop for this scene. I've used one of the fabulous four Headless Horseman dies released by Whimsy this year and also used the Old Bridge Die though I've cut this down to make it work for a portrait A2 card. The full bridge scene works best on a landscape A2 card. But I wanted to use it and altered it by diecutting it with the Deckle Layers Die Set from Whimsy, which I diecut the Tree Silhouette Background with, so the two elements matched along the sides and bottom. I used white pigment ink to add the misty detail behind the Headless Horseman and I've used Scrapbook.com's Black Glitter Brush Marker on the lichen elements from the Old Bridge Die Set which I added at the base of the design, but also on the word 'spooky' in places. I love how this turned out, it's my favourite make of the season!
