80 Scoops

Using So Many Scoops (Concord & 9th) and a little math, made it into a slimline with 80 scoops to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday. Sentiments are from the So Many Scoops stamp set and various other stamp sets so that there was something to read or look at on each "page". Here is how it worked out... Used the Honey Bee Basket Weave Slimine die to cut the panels. Scored each panel approximately 1/4" inch from one side so there was a flap to adhere to the next panel to make the fan folded base. I used the die from the So Many Scoops set to make the “expandable” bottom to hold the ice cream cone but did partial die-cutting because I had to add an extention (instead of a single score/fold, had to create two score lines so there was about a 3/4" inch space) to account for the thickness of the card so that the ice cream cone would fold to the front properly and tuck underneath one of the scoops to hold the card closed. Because it was so long, it was tricky to keep everything lined up when gluing the scoops down so that they would stay centered. I would recommend a lot of table space to layout the panels with ice cream scoops before gluing anything just to make sure you have them in the order you want, that you’ve used the correct scoop die for the folds and to keep the scoops centered.
