Whale, Whale, Whale

Whale, whale, whale, what have we got here? We've got whales! Lots and lots of whales. When I saw this stencil on A Colorful Life Designs website, I knew that I needed to add the Whales Swimming Stencil to my collection. I wanted to create something "different" with them. I think I achieved that when I paired them with the A Lot of Angles Stencil. I used the provided whale masks, and cut a few more from post it notes that have a full sticky back. I arranged the whale masks on my my card base. Then I placed the A Lot of Angles Stencil over the card base with whale masks. I ink blended a trio of blues, but I wanted a little water looking effect, so I added two shades of teal over the blues. From here, I layed the whale stencil over each of the corresponding whales and added a touch of gray. I used a multi-liner to outline each whale and also add an eye. The whales felt a little flat, so I added a little shading to their bellies.
