Easter Blessings
I was inspired by a hymn my daddy loved, 'The Old Rugged Cross' and I saw the ends of the wood planks from Whimsy Stamps Slimline Fence Die and the idea of using them to create a cross started forming in my head. I ink dragged with several brown Distress Inks on white cardstock, to create the woodgrain background. The Slimline Fence Die Set created the extra texture which gave this cross a rustic finish. I stamped a sentiment from the Savior Stamp Set onto a diecut made with the Quick Strips Die Set. I used some Idea-ology Mummy Cloth to represent the shroud. I distressed it with the left over ink on my craft mat from the ink dragging. I loosely watercoloured the background with tea dye and antique linen. The crown of thorns from the Savior Die Set I ink dragged with darker Distress inks.
